OUR PROJECTS
The Need
The requirement was to supply ample power and energy for a fully self-sufficient off-grid home, accommodating demanding loads like on-site water pumping and purification, landscape irrigation, electric car charging, and all electric appliances within the home.
The design necessitated coordination with all product manufacturers to thoroughly comprehend the loads prior to the construction of the home. It involved overseeing extended lead times for specialty appliances and collaborating with on-site contractors who delivered an exceptional home.
The Solution
The final product is both clean and robust, surpassing the customer's expectations. Remarkably, the electric vehicle can be utilized to energize the home when necessary or strategically charge when the house batteries reach full capacity, and the sun continues to shine brightly.
The Need
We collaborated with a local installer to design a retrofit system for an off-grid customer situated at the end of power lines, relying primarily on the grid and a generator for backup power. Leveraged existing, reliable solar modules and battery inverters with substantial remaining useful life.
The Solution
The completed project delivered a more dependable system, providing the customer with enhanced peace of mind and reduced maintenance. The system uses Blue Planet Energy's Blue Ion 2.0 batteries as the replacement for the lead acid batteries, addressing the legacy system's repeated battery replacement needs, guiding the customer through an upgrade to the optimal solution for improved efficiency and performance.
The Need
After the devastating hurricanes in Puerto Rico of 2017 the power grid had completely failed the community both during the storm and for an unprecedented long duration after the storm. This resulted in extended loss of life, loss of entire communities due to displacement, and devastation as a culture that required an overwhelming response to combat the heartache.
The Solution
The American Red cross partnered with local installation companies, product manufacturing partners and the school districts of Puerto Rico to install +150 solar power systems throughout the island.
Solar and energy storage solutions were required to provide critical electrical support for a more resilient system to hedge against future storms that could wreak more havoc on the island. Each school has two separate systems that are specifically designed to support a shared community kitchen and a designated emergency shelter as resiliency centers in the aftermath of future natural disasters.
